ESMA Aviation Academy welcomes VISTAJET, the world’s fastest growing private aviation company - Friday, October 28th, 2011

VISTAJET, the world’s best known business jet company visited ESMA at its training centre in Montpellier in the South of France, Thursday 27th October 2011. The VISTAJET delegation was led by Mr Thomas Flohr Founder and Chairman of VISTAJET and included Nick Van Der Meer (Flight Operations Manager) and Nina Yates (Cabin Crew Manager). The delegation was hosted under the high patronage of Mr Frederick Kwok, Chairman of the Board of ESMA Aviation Academy.

AvioTrace Swiss announce the first “paperless” aircraft maintenance license technical training programme - Thursday, October 27th, 2011

AvioTrace Swiss announces that the first AML “paperless” technical training programme is proceeding with great success. The first complete “paperless” basic training course, started on September 26th, is showing that the use of advanced systems based on tablets and PCs has a strong positive impact on the trainees learning process. All students received an iPad at the beginning of the course with all required manuals in multimedia format and access to AvioTrace Swiss’ web learning systems. The introduction of advanced solutions for training allows the use of traditional manuals integrated with videos, multimedia animations, audio files and all documents that are useful during theoretical and practical training. In addition the material is automatically updated “on line” and tailored on each individual student’s profile and needs.

SR Technics launches technical training on iPad - Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Daniel Hepfer, Head of Commercial Services at SR Technics Group Technical Training, told the EAMTC “I’m delighted to inform you about the latest development at SR Technics Training Services: training course material and manuals will be available on iPads from the beginning of 2012. Our exciting  new training platform offers students a truly enhanced learning experience which will lead to more efficient and effective study and eliminate the need for large and heavy training manuals.”

Against the backdrop of the familiar Lufthansa design, visitors will find a new look at the company’s varied portfolio of training courses and consulting. The core of the new website is theTraining Finder, which helps visitors identify the Lufthansa Technical Training educational measures best suited to their needs – quickly and precisely.

Savo Vocational College student wins Silver at the WorldSkills competition - Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

The WorldSkills competition was held in London from the 4th to 9th of October. Young people from 51 countries/regions were competing to be the best of the best in their chosen skill.

The competition included Aviation Maintenance for the second time with the Finnish contestant, Antti Ukkonen from the Savo Vocational College, winning the silver medal in this category.

As an EAMTC member, Olli Kankimaki, the Training Manager for Aircraft Maintenance Training at the Savo Vocational College, Kuopio, Finland said, “The award is fully deserved. We are very pleased and proud of Antti and this achievement.”

More than 200,000 people from the UK visited the event including Prime Minister, David Cameron.

Operantis announce partnership with Superjet - Friday, October 7th, 2011

In their latest newsletter, EAMTC member, Operantis, has announced a partnership with SuperJet covering the definition, development and distribution of a range of virtual reality 3D training tools for flight and ground crew for the SuperJet 100 aircraft.

Guidelines & Recommendations on e-learning published - Wednesday, October 5th, 2011

Following approval of the outcome of a Working Group, the EAMTC General Assembly unanimously accepted the group’s document for publication as Guidelines and Recommendations GR 1003.

The Working Group President, Ivo van Oosterhout said, “We had a really productive working group. The result is a super document that will be great for members. I’m delighted with the result.”

The new Guidelines and Recommendations, GR 1003 is available in the members area of this web site.
