Sky Aviation, being the first SSJ100 customer in the Southeast Asia market, has ordered twelve Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft to be delivered in 2012-2015.

Late November 2012 the interior installation and painting of Sky Aviation’s first Sukhoi Superjet 100 (MSN 95022) was completed. The first delivery of the aircraft is expected by the end of this year.

SSJ100 FFS arrives for installation at SJI’s Venice training centre - Tuesday, December 4th, 2012

Venice, Italy – December 4th, 2012

A new Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for training on the SSJ100 aircraft arrived for installation at the SuperJet International (SJI) Training Centre in Venice (Italy), close to the Marco Polo International airport.

The SSJ100 simulator, produced by L3 Communications, formerly Thales, fully replicates the aircraft cockpit with state-of-the-art visual and motion systems, enabling pilots to achieve the SSJ100 Type Rating training without using the real aircraft.

The installation will last around 30 days and will be followed by an extensive phase of on-site testing. The simulator will be submitted for the final approval of the EASA STD (Synthetic Training Device) Evaluation team, to be ready for training at the beginning of 2013.

WBT for helicopter courses wins Gold Medal – “Best in Competencies and Skill Development” - Tuesday, November 13th, 2012

The web-based training program (WBT) for helicopter courses has been awarded a gold medal by the Brandon Hall Group in the category “Best in Competencies and Skill Development”.

Lufthansa Technical Training developed and implemented the concept of this online training course -in terms of content and method – in conjunction with the software experts Emantras Inc.

“We have already run the first courses with larger groups of customers and they have been very successful”, said Thomas Breuer, trainer and co-developer of this WBT helicopter course at LTT, in connection with his experience of delivering the program. “The participants were very happy – although we were able to take on a few suggestions for improvements from the users.”

This is already the second time that Emantras Inc. and Lufthansa Technical Training have won a gold medal from the Brandon Hall Group. Back in 2009, the courseware “Technical Aviation English”, which was also produced in collaboration with Emantras, was awarded the gold medal in the category “Best Learning Software”.
