30th EAAP Conference – Aviation Psychology and Applied Human Factors – Working Towards Zero Accidents - Saturday, May 5th, 2012

The 30th European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP) Conference, “Aviation Psychology and Applied Human Factors – working towards zero Accidents”, will take place from 24-28 September 2012 in Villasimius (Sardinia/Italy). The conference will feature a special Session on Aviation Economics.

Since 1956 the EAAP has provided a forum for professionals working in the various domains of aviation psychology and human factors. The EAAP facilitates – from a European perspective – a professional network to encourage the successful management of human performance in aviation.

The objective of EAAP is to promote the study of psychology and the scientific pursuit of applied psychology in the field of aviation.

EASA Regulatory Overview of EC 1149/2011 and AMC/GM at Instructor Seminar - Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

All EASA Approved Maintenance Training Organisations have been affected by the recent legislation changes introduced by EC 1149/2011.

With the associated AMC and GM (ED 2012 / 004R) having just been issued it is timely that a speaker from EASA will address the EAMTC Instructor Seminar in Milan on 22nd and 23rd May.

Places at the seminar are limited.

Operantis launches Aeroquiz - Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Operantis has launched Aeroquiz, a WEB environment examination software product that is officially recognised (Part 147 and Part 66) by the French Group for Civil Aviation Safety (GSAC).

Already in use with several certified aeronautical training groups, Operantis say that Aeroquiz is effective, efficient and that it facilitates the entirely digital design, management, application and supervision of approved examinations.

Examinations may be carried out in all network configurations, intranet or (secured) internet, on standard PCs.

New Aircraft Management Solution Implemented at ESMA - Monday, April 23rd, 2012

ESMA Training Academy has introduced a new software application to enhance and optimize its aircraft management and scheduling activities.

Continuing investment at ESMA will enable training programs to meet the growing needs and expectations of today’s aviation industry professionals.

Cedric Jullian, Director of the Ground Staff Training Department at the ESMA Aviation Academy said, “This will directly benefit our trainees with the latest developments in both flight treatment systems, customer management, and load control operations. Upgrade sessions will also be offered to students who have completed their training prior to its launch, ensuring their professional skills meet new requirements.”

Sukhoi Superjet 100 – First Anniversary - Monday, April 23rd, 2012

The first anniversary of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 commercial operations in Armavia

April 23 2012, Moscow

Just over a year ago, on the 21st of April 2011, the first production Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft operated by the Armenian airline, Armavia, performed the first scheduled flight on route Yerevan – Moscow, marking the start of the commercial operations of the brand new commercial aircraft.

Armavia put the new aircraft (MSN 95007, register number EK 95015) in service in an extremely short period of time – within two days after the official delivery.

AMC / GM to Part 66 ED Decision 2012/004 R - Friday, April 20th, 2012

The AMC/GM to Part-66 has been published on the EASA website (Decision 2012/004/R).

It contains 3 documents:

  • An Explanatory Note
  • The Decision itself
  • An Annex to the Decision containing the AMC/GM material. The AMC related to the requirement for a Training Needs Analysis is contained on page 30 of this document. This relates to the requirement for existing courses.
