Prestigious Turkish University becomes 75th EAMTC Member - Thursday, March 29th, 2012
Turkey’s Anadolu University, located in the capital of the Eskisehir Province is one of Turkey’s leading centres of higher education.
Under the School of Civil Aviation , the university offers degree programmes in Avionics, Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance, Air Traffic Control, Aviation Management and Flight Training. The school operates it’s own international airport, aircraft fleet, aerodrome control unit and maintenance centre.
Avionics, Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance programmes have 370 students. They are an essential part of the country’s strategy to support the growth of aircraft maintenance activities.
Cem Cetek, the Basic Engineering Training Manager said, “We are dedicated to delivering personnel to the Turkish aviation sector with the competences required for today’s challenging aviation market. QAC – New EAMTC Member - Wednesday, March 21st, 2012
The latest organisation to join the EAMTC is Queensland Aerospace College (QAC). The college’s CEO and Managing Director, Harold McDougall said, “We look forward to participating in the Foundation. We are on the other side of the world to many of the Members but in today’s global marketplace we see the Foundation as an important part of our business.”
QAC began in 1990, when in partnership with the Central Queensland University (Division of Distance and Continuing Education), it undertook an Australian Department of Employment Education and Training funded programme for the training of aircraft maintenance engineers. This programme was the beginning of the College.
In January 1993, QAC commenced flying operations, both air charter and flight training and was also registered with the Australian Government for the intake of international Students. Since then Queensland Aerospace has gone from strength to strength.
Many students from overseas have trained with QAC and include students from India, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Western Samoa and Fiji.
The College is approved by EASA and the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
ATR Opens Training Centre in Johannesburg - Friday, March 16th, 2012
ATR, the European manufacturer of turboprop aircraft, has just opened a new training centre for pilots and maintenance technicians in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Switzerland’s QCM (Quality Control Management) in Belp makes changes - Monday, March 12th, 2012
Switzerland’s QCM has announced changes in the management of its EASA Part 147 Approved Training Organisation. Basil Erath takes over in the position of Training Manager, Part 147.
Basil, formerly a Technical Instructor for Part-145/66 subjects, told the EAMTC, “This is an exciting challenge for me. Training is a vital part of our industry and here at QCM we have a great range of courses and services to help our customers.”
Speaking of the EAMTC, Basil said, “This is a major industry body and QCM is proud to be a member. I’m looking forward to joining in the EAMTC meetings and helping to shape our industry for the benefit of us all.”
Part-147 Type Training
QCM offers a wide variety of EASA Part-147 certified Maintenance Type Rating Courses in accordance with EASA Part-66. Their approval certificate includes General Familiarization, Line and Base Maintenance (B1/B2, C) as well as Differences Courses. The courses are conducted at QCM’s training facility or at the customer’s locations.
EASA Technical training – e-examination
QCM holds the privilege to conduct e-examinations in the name and on behalf of EASA. A certificate of achievement issued by EASA is awarded to candidates who successfully pass. At the moment QCM offers e-examinations for Part-M Subpart G and Part-145 and on request can also provide e-examinations for other EASA courses.
