IAAG, Merville, 24th Jan – Aeronautical professions discovered! - Friday, December 19th, 2014

24th January 2015, Discover the variety of professions in the aeronautical sector at IAAG!

IAAGA special event at EAMTC members, IAAG, on 24th January allows, especially young people, to discuss and discover opportunities in the airline and aeronautical industry. Registration for the event is made from the IAAG web site at

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd joins EAMTC - Friday, December 19th, 2014

PILATUS-blue-rgbPilatus Aircraft Ltd and its training centre are located in Stans, in a beautiful area in the heart of Switzerland surrounded by the Alps and close to Lake Lucerne.

The Pilatus training centre offers various courses for the entire Pilatus Aircraft fleet. All instructors are highly motivated and have many years of experience and a thorough knowledge of their fields of expertise.

PilatusAll courses are practically orientated. Whenever possible the customer’s aircraft is used for hands on training or cockpit and system familiarisation. This ensures that all the equipment and systems are presented in the customer’s configuration.

Training is supported by the latest Computer Based Training software (CBT), Flight Training Device (FTD) and other modern training systems.

Courses are available for:

  • Ground crew training
  • Flight crew training

The ground crew training courses are either EASA Part 147 and Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) approved, or fulfil ATA 100 Spec. 104 level 3 requirements for Airframe, Engine, Propeller and Electrical Systems and level 2 for Radio and Avionics.

The flight crew training courses comply with EASA PART-FCL and have been approved by the FOCA.

PilChristoph Krähenbühl, Manager Pilatus Training Centre said: “Every Pilatus Aircraft comes with a set of ground based training equipment and courses. This results in an integrated training package which is designed from the beginning to be tailored to suit the customer’s needs and syllabi and enable the objectives of the training to be met.”

2042/2003 repealed – EU No 1321/2014 issued - Wednesday, December 17th, 2014

The Recast of CR (EC) No 2042/2003 has been published today, 17th December.

It includes: –
“Type training courses approved before the approval of the minimum syllabus of certifying staff type rating training in the operational suitability data for the relevant type in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 748/2012 shall include the relevant elements defined in the mandatory part of that operational suitability data not later than 18 December 2017 or within two years after the operational suitability data was approved, whichever is the latest.”

Commission Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014 of 26 November 2014 on the continuing airworthiness of aircraft and aeronautical products, parts and appliances, and on the approval of organisations and personnel involved in these tasks has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union (No. L 362 on 17 December 2014)

The Regulation (EC) No 2042/2003 is repealed.

As per Article 8 of this regulation the following applies:
This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Avionics writers needed - Thursday, December 11th, 2014

Assistance is sought from experienced writers to help develop two basic avionics textbooks (EASA module 13 and 14), in conformance with Part 66 standards.  Multiple authors, each writing specific chapters of expertise and/or test question banks may also be considered. The purchase of rights to existing approved Part 66 modules 13 and 14 to use as a basis for new writing may also be considered.

EASA issues SIB on Examination Fraud - Wednesday, December 10th, 2014

EASA has issued a Safety Information Bulletin, SIB 2014-32 : Safety Information Related to Alleged Examination Fraud at Part-147 Maintenance Training Organisation. As well details for Competent Authorities, the SIB contains guidance for Part 147 Approved Organisations and industry.
