CATTS Ltd – New EAMTC member
Operating under Approval Number UK.147.0077, Civil Aviation Technical Training Solutions (CATTS) was founded in 2007 and has grown year on year to become one of the major independent EASA Part-147 approved training organisations within Europe.
CATTS is also a UK Ministry of Defence ELCS (Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme) Approved Learning Provider.
Located in the North West of England, CATTS operates from their dedicated training facility near Manchester Airport. With the ever expanding far Eastern market CATTS has also recently established a purpose built second training facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
CATTS offers both Theoretical and Practical training on Airbus A300 (Basic), A310, A300-600, A320, A330 and Boeing B737 (CL+NG), B757, B767, B777, as well as a large portfolio of EASA Part-145 maintenance training such as EWIS, ETOPS, HF, Fuel Safety, EGR, Borescope, FAM courses etc.
David Owen the Accountable Manager, is ideally placed to head up the organisation with an extensive aviation background.
“Having started my aviation career with British Airways in 1989 and after gaining both UK CAA and EASA Licences, I moved into training in 2003. Previous training roles at BAe systems, MyTravel and Thomas Cook saw me ideally placed to take the helm with the creation of CATTS in 2007” he recalls.
“ A new start-up venture was something I really wanted to be involved with and the company’s growth since has been remarkable ”. David credits this mainly to the level of professionalism of the staff and instructors at CATTS.
David continued, “ We train all over the world, for example, Mongolia, the Middle East and all over Europe. In more recent years we have been working closely with THALES UK and the Airtanker consortium at Brize Norton UK. This brings its own unique collection of challenges with the integration of a civilian platform into a military configuration and we believe the EAMTC membership and participation will be a great asset to us for this project as there is a wealth of information and collective experience at the General Assembly meetings and seminars. Full compliance with the regulations is everyone’s goal and the EAMTC is the best platform to stay abreast of industry developments. There is also a great network of fellow training professionals within the group as a whole, and we are looking to build some lasting friendships and business connections ”
