New Norwegian Member! Sola Upper Secondary School

The Sola upper secondary school received their EASA Part-147 approval in 2006, (Approval Certificate reference: No.147.0007)

Kjell Eivind Forsmo, Training Manager for the Part 147 organisation at the school told the EAMTC, “Our training follows the international standard as described in the EASA Part-147. We train people to achieve their Part 66 B1 and B2 Licences. Our education paths include an apprenticeship certificate for aircraft technicians.

We are very proud of our modern facilities which naturally include well equipped classrooms and workshops that house our range of aircraft engines, an instrument simulator, aircraft instruments and wide range of aircraft components.

Of great interest to our students is that on a voluntary basis, they may participate in the restoring a super puma helicopter.

The school has the following aircraft fleet:

  • Piper Cheyenne turboprop
  • F5 Freedom Fighter
  • Maveric-Murphy: microlights built by students (completed in 2013)
  • EC120, Eurocopter Colibri Caldius: gyrocopter which is our new student-based construction project (2013-2016)

Several aircraft and helicopter companies have bases at Sola airport. This makes for an excellent relationship which serves everyone well.

We are delighted to join the EAMTC and share its ideals.”
